Sports massage is used for people who take part in sport, athletic activities or strenuous work. It can help athletes recover from workouts and injuries, prepare the body for athletic activity and help maintain mobility.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). It can be used for chronic aches and pains such as a stiff neck and back, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
Remedial massage focuses on a specific part of the body that requires rehabilitation. Remedial massage first starts with an assessment of your pain. Once the therapist understands the issues causing the injury or pain they will then perform a targeted massage of the area. While deep tissue massage requires firm pressure, the pressure used during remedial massage will vary depending on what is best for treating your specific issue.
